Education
More than a third of education professionals have experienced a mental health issue in the last academic year.
Harptree Training offer First Aid for Mental Health courses specifically tailored to the educational environment and staff wellbeing.
With nearly 20 years experience working in education, we are more than aware of the unique pressures faced by teachers and support staff, and the importance of Mental Health in education. A study by a charity who exist to support the wellbeing of teachers says that nearly three quarters of teachers and 84% of senior leaders feel “stressed”.
We have tailored our Ofqual RQF Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 courses to be specific to teaching and education, with a particular emphasis on stress, anxiety, depression and staff wellbeing.
Our Level 1 “Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health” Award course is aimed at every member of staff. It provides knowledge of common mental health conditions, including stress, depression and anxiety. It also serves to reduce the stigma that surrounds mental health. It is a four hour course, and can be delivered as part of an inset or training day.
Our Level 2 “First Aid for Mental Health” Award course is aimed Heads of Department or those with a line management responsibility within a team. It allows them to provide First Aid for Mental Health to anyone who is showing signs of a mental health issue and support them in accessing professional support to ease suffering, prevent escalation and promote personal safety. This course also includes the affects of alcohol and drugs on mental health.
Our Level 3 “Supervisor of First Aid for Mental Health” Award course is aimed senior leaders and those responsible for staff wellbeing, as well as those to be designated as First Aiders for Mental Health. It provides detail knowledge of a wide range of mental health conditions, the treatments that are available and the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan.
